hoof cafe lunch

A quick lunch at my favourite neighbourhood resto, The Hoof Cafe, meant tongue grilled cheese, ploughman's plate and a sparkling glass of rose. I can't think of a better way to enjoy a sunny day with a friend I haven't seen in way too long. Everything was amazing (as always), but the tongue grilled cheese was definitely one of the best things I've tasted in a long time: juicy, slightly sweet and very meaty, but not at all heavy. If I could eat one everyday for lunch I'd be one happy girl.

  2. Brae, the tongue was so amazing! I can see why people may get a bit squeamish over it, but I swear it really doesn't taste funky at all! This place is amazing and the chefs are really passionate about what they do. They make everything in-house and focus on the nose-to-tail eating movement which I totally respect. And yes, the wine was awesome. They make the best cocktails here too with homemade syrups and infusions! mmmmm.
